Diamond Shumsher Rana

Diamond Shumsher Rana was a renowned Nepali writer known for his novels “Basanti” and “Seto Bagh.” Born in 1918 into a privileged family, he embarked on a literary career in 1948, publishing “Basanti” in Benaras, India. His writing garnered acclaim, but he also ventured into politics, aligning with anti-establishment factions and later joining the Nepali Congress Party. Despite facing arrest and a death sentence, he left a lasting impact on both Nepali literature and politics, showcasing his multifaceted talents. His life and works continue to inspire readers and writers today.
