Unlike most representations of disabled people in the media, this novel has a blind protagonist who is bold, has friends, and lives a pretty normal life. Through this novel, Gauchan aims to reduce the distance between the so-called ?normal? people and the disabled ones. Gauchan says that this book required the most research, as it was about something she had hardly experienced.
