The Story of Lord Buddha’ is a simple yet succinct depiction of the Lord Buddha’s life. Written in a form easily read by all, it chronicles his life from birth till his parinirvan.
The book is illustrated with detailed and panoramic photographs of the Frescoes at the Mulagandha Kuty Vihara Temple, painted by Japanese artist Kosetu Nosu at the request of the Maha Bodhi Society through the Imperial Japanese Government. The book also includes photographs of the surrounding area including the sculpture of the Buddha imparting The Four Noble Truths to his first disciples, installed on this very site under the sacred bodhi tree; and a translation of the Buddha’s teaching inscribed on stone panels there at the Deer-park.
The Mulagandha Kuty Vihara temple at Sarnath, was built in 1932 by Anagarika Dharmapala founder of the Maha Bodhi Society, on the historical site of Isapatana where the Buddha delivered his first sermon.
