Singing Bowls: An ABC is a modest result of travels, conversations, meetings, concerts and a personal odyssey into the wonderful and magical world of singing bowls. Though written as a guide and a lexicon of bowls, this book is not meant to be definitive! It divulges a few, so-called, ‘secrets’ about singing bowls. Step-by-step guidelines tell you how to work with these mystical bowls in massage, relaxation and meditation. This handbook provides practical and lucid information about therapeutic uses, contra-indications included, resonance and (making) music.
Geert Verbeke was born in Kortrijk, Flanders (Belgium) on 31 May, 1948. Astrologically a Mercurial, creative and talkative Gemini, he is an expert on Himalayan singing bowls. A passionate artist, staunch vegetarian and non-smoker-Geert doesn’t claim to be a guru or a teacher. He has recorded several CDs, improvising with his peculiar sensitivity for Himalayan bowls. For his own listening, he is drawn to the music of artists such as Arno, The Beatles, Gilbert Isbin, Keith Jarrett, Stephan Micus, Colin Offord and The Pink Floyd.
