This book – Electrification Coverage in Nepal: resolving the differences-deals with the data related to electrification coverage in Nepal. It has revealed problems associated with generation of electrification data and highlighted persisting confusions regarding use of the data. Various approaches have been suggested to construct the electrification data that depict clearer picture of the state of electrification coverage in the country. This includes approaches to construct the aggregate data, data segregated by district and rural-urban areas, and data showing contribution of different utilities and sources of power.
The book has shown that the baseline data considered by the Tenth Plan was overestimated, and has insisted that the baseline data for the forthcoming three-year Interim Plan should be around 33 percent.
The book is useful for decision makers, planners, professionals, students and the general people having interest in electrification of the country.
