This book ‘Economic Interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita and Its Relevance in Recent Development Policies of Nepal has built a bridge between the recent development policies of Nepal and the economic aspect of Shrimad-Bhagavad Gita. This book has valuably contributed in highlighting our ancient philosophy by comparing the ancient system with the modern system.

This book presents an unique exploration of the link between the Bhagavad Gita and the policy orientation of the present world, especially of South Asian region. This could be an interesting book for policy makers of our part and the international readers as well.

It is my pleasure and privilege to write a few words to this book. I have gone through the book entitled ‘Economic Interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita and Its Relevance in Designing Resent Development Policies of Nepal. The Bhagavad Gita is referred to as the essence of the Vedas. The fundamental thoughts of the Vedic tradition have been presented in practical and easily understandable form in the Gita. Its teachings comprise both spiritual and worldly subjects. The massages of the Gita are extremely significant to guide a person to achieve the goals of life and new heights of success. Finally, I would like to congratulate Dr. Yub Raj Pandey, former secretary of the Government of Nepal for publishing his Ph D dissertation in a book form. The work is a distinctive contribution to the concerned field.I am confident that this book will be widely read and appreciated not only in Nepal but also all over the world. Curious readers would certainly benefit from this book if they relate wisdom of the past to the contemporary issues.

It so happened that I have had an opportunity to go through Dr. Yuba Raj Pandey’s book. The contents reveal his tenaciously, sincere and comprehensive attempt to celebrate the economics aspects of the Bhagavad Gita through a meticulously intellectual interpretative survey being critical to the West’s interpretations that Gita promotes idleness. Dr. Pandey claims instead of promoting idleness, the Gita pleads for unconditional dedication to the task.
The outcome of human activities till date do not tell any promising story, thus, he propounded a solution based on the philosophy manifested in the teachings and principles of the Gita through his `Vedic entrepreneurship’ and ‘ethiconomics’ to the unrest world.
A genuine and thoughtful provoking interpretation that deserves genuine appreciation and persuasion. -Dr. Khimananda Pandey
In this book the author, through his Ph. D. research, has explored the significance of the Bhagwad Gita in formulating the developing policies and shaping the model of development in developing countries like Nepal. In my view, this is the valuable contribution of the author to the planning and policy making system of the country and the academic sector.
