Dr Rishikeshab Raj Regmi was born in Palpa, Tansen, Nepal in 1945. He is an Anthropologist in His Majesty’s Government, of Nepal, Ministry of Education and culture, Department of Archaeology Kathmandu, Nepal since 1969. He did his B. Sc., from Bangabasi College, Calcutta in 1968 with Distinction in Anthropology. He completed M. Sc. Anthropology in 1975 from Karnatak University, Dharwar, India. His specialisation being Socio-cultural Anthropology. He had taken special papers on Linguistic Anthropology and Anthropology of Indian civilization including Archaeology and Prehistory.

Later on, he was awarded Ph. D. degree from the University of Calcutta, India in 1984. His publication includes seven books on literature and one in Anthropology. Several of his research articles are published in various journals. He takes keen interest in applied Anthropology and Archaeology. He is married and has a daughter and a Son.
