The Endless Wait – Wilfrid Singh

Ramdhoj, , an old ex-serviceman, lives with his son in a farming village on the outskirts of Kalimpong. Their peaceful lives change suddenly when people all over the Darjeeling Hills take up the cry for Gorkhaland and draconian measures are enforced to quell the demand. The various characters are samehow fated to be a part of the turmoil that results in infighting between different factions. The story is basically about loss of innocence and coming of age against the backdrop of the violent bloodshed. It is about a people’s aspiration, resilience and humour in the face of adversity.
