SUNIL SAINJU is an advocate for
human rights in business, with a focus on promoting fair trade practices and combating modern slavery. For over three decades, he has been actively involved in anti-trafficking efforts in Nepal. His extensive experience includes working with renowned organizations such as the Freedom Fund, Geneva Global Inc, and Planète Enfants. As a former Executive Director of Fair-Trade Group Nepal, he had the opportunity to contribute to advancing fair trade activism in the region. Currently serving as the CEO of a Fair-Trade social enterprise, Sunil leads initiatives that empower marginalized communities by providing employment opportunities through the creation of handcrafted products for global markets.
PRASANT SHRESTHA was born in Panauti in 1974. He graduated in Oriental Medicine. Since 1998 he has been taking photos on the Nepalese cultural heritage, especially in Panauti. He has already done several photo exhibitions on Panauti. One of them was organized at the Alliance française, Kathmandu in 2019. Since 2010, he has collaborated on Gérard Toffin’s research on the Newars of the Kathmandu and Banepa valleys.
