Yenya Colouring Book – Baakhan Nyane Waa

Remember the time when our grandparents used to tell us interesting stories about our place, festivals, deities and mythical characters? They were not mere stories but a reflection of our society, culture and heritage. Without these stories, our culture and heritage may not have survived for as long as they have. Baakhan Nyane Waa is a not-for-profit organization which has been working to document these oral stories and present them to the new generation. The main aim of Baakhan Nyane Waa is to collect these oral stories our grandparents shared with us when we were kids while also reviving the storytelling tradition of the past. We have been organizing storytelling sessions at various places in and around Kathmandu Valley where we listen to stories told by the elders of that place to a live audience.
