Three Years in Tibet – Ekai Kawaguchi | This is the account of the Japanese monk who crossed the border from Nepal to Tibet in 4 July 1900. Already the first of his race to enter that isolated, mysterious country, he went on to become the first Japanese to reach the forbidden city of Lhasa. He was also the guest of the Rana Prime Minister Chandra Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana while in Kathmandu and is also related here.
