The First Decade Of Republic – Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) | “Whether the issue of the fusion of people’s war and peaceful movement integrate, and forging the 12-point agreement, all had been possible through a national consensus. The 19 days long people’s movement in Nepal was unique in nature. Nepal witnessed an unprecedented incident of armed rebellion and peaceful movement walking together. All that had been possible on the ground of national consensus as all political parties were against autocracy and with the consensus of all the country could go towards peace agreement and constituent assembly. We all know that to build a constitution from the constituent assembly was a herculean task which was very difficult and challenging. We all know the obstacles and disturbances that came before us and I do not prefer to go towards that. However, with the consensus of all major political parties existing in this house we succeed to declare the constitution of federal democratic republic with the provision of inclusion and proportional representation from the constituent assembly.”
