Notes From Prison (Sundarijal Gaol) – Krishna Prasad Bhattarai

Nepal is very dear to me’ This small diary will take us to the man when he was determined to crusade for establishing democracy in Nepal.
He has often questioned the wisdom of King Mahendra in putting him and other NC leaders in Jail, forgetting that it was the Nepali Congress
led movement that led to the downfall of the Rana regime and restoration of the Shahs in the throne. In one place, he has even said that if the King did not behave, may be a day will come when the Nepali Congress and the Communist Parties will have to join hands together to end the Monarchy, but predicted that will be a misfortune for the country as a whole.
He said many times, at least once in parliament, despite his ‘detachment’ from many things, ‘Nepal
is very dear to me’.
