Dilli Ram Dahal is Ph D in Anthropology from the University of Hawaii in 1983 and is Professor of Anthropology at Tribuvan University, Kirtipur, Nepal (Retired but working as a Visiting Professor at the Central Department of Sociology/Anthropology,
T.U.). Eight students have already obtained a Ph.D degree in Anthropology and Sociology in Tribhuvan University under his supervision. He has published several books and articles. Some of the books are: Land and Migration in far western Nepal (Co-authored with Navin Rai and A. Manzardo; INAS, 1977); Dhimal Lok Jivan Adhyayan (Royal Nepal Academy 1979); Forestry User Groups: A Case Study of Forestry User Groups in Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, and Ilam Districts of the Eastern Hill Region of Nepal. Kathmandu: International Center for Mountain Research and Development. 1994); and Ethnographic Profiles on Musahar, Halkhor, Dom, Chidimar and Chamar of Nepal (CDSA, 2014). He has published more than 100 articles in national and international journals, His most recent article is “Social Composition of the Population: Caste/Ethnicity and Religion in Nepal” (NPC/CBS, Kathmandu, 2014).
