It was my great fortune and honor to work with Chandra on the Annapurna Project, and to witness his incisive intellect and incomparably warm manner. He set the tone for the creation of this landmark protected area, and it’s no surprise that he masterfully guided its implementation and operation for years to come. Indeed, ACAP became a model for other Conservation Areas not just in Nepal, but around the world. Chandra was a pioneer, and this comprehensive and compelling book accurately captures the practical details, and the spirit, of ACAP. I look forward to the sequel!
